Savour the Good, Live Free

Festive mosaic from the ruins of Caesaria, Israel. Good archaeology. Wine, meat, art, good times. Not Offense Archaeology. Photo by me.

I read a comment over at Mark Steyn’s comment section that really upset me. A fellow whose comments I really enjoy has had to retreat somewhat back into anonymity because his comments were getting a little too much exposure. I have really had it up to my eyeballs with our “gotcha” culture and the Offense Archaeologists. These are the truly miserable souls, the utter ghouls that spend many hours of their lives, of their precious time here on earth digging up things that other people have said online at one point in their lives. I’m so tired of lives getting destroyed by the Offense Archaeology Mob.

I’m going to sound like a broken record player, but the only way to “fight back”, or to reclaim the freedom to express oneself is by vigorous, relentless and aggressive exercise of this right, consequences mostly be dammed. That doesn’t mean say everything that pops into your head. It doesn’t mean head straight into the battles that you know you can’t win. It means starting with the battles that may not even be battles, with the ‘fights’ you can, and will win.

The reason that I started up this new site is because things have settled down a bit and there’s still things that need to be said. And I’m going to say them. If you enjoy what I have to say, I hope you’ll support me going forward so that I can expand the ripple effect of what I do and bring more good ideas and encourage more open conversations about ‘difficult’ issues and more rigorous debate in support of free speech.

Without free speech, the whole civilizational cookie crumbles.

In the near future, I’ll be rolling out some ways in which you can support my work. The new podcast feature has a (reasonable) cost attached to it, and in order to keep them professional I’ll be soliciting reader support to keep them going. If you like them, I hope you’ll consider supporting the cost of producing them.

Miscellaneous news items to share, some bad and some good.

First, the disgusting: only truly evil people would support this.

Then, something quite glorious: the “wow” of delight at the Boston Symphony Hall.

My idiot people: stupid Jews continue to ignore our wise Sages and continue to be merciful to the cruel.

In America: an elected member of congress pushes the terrorist narrative.

Is nothing sacred anymore? Et tu, Arthur cartoons for young children?

Support the brave.

More when I have time.

Thanks for stopping by.
